Some history:
Mike, Alex, and Sandy have been playing professionally for many years. They have been in the Tampa Bay area for over 20 years playing together as a trio most of that time.
Raised in a musical family Mike began to learn classical piano at age 7 and at 15 was introduced to jazz by his uncles Frank Genese (jazz guitarist) and Tony Genese (jazz bassist). Mike's brother is "Sugar Ray" an internationally known blues musician nominated three times for a Grammy in best blues performance. At age 16 Mike played his first professional gig. At 18 Mike started to sing and since then considers himself a singer/ keyboard player.
Alex started to learn guitar in the Czech Republic at 7 and graduated from Prague University School of Music as a professional guitarist/musician. He came to the U.S. in 1982 and almost immediately began playing in local clubs with different musicians. Alex is an accomplished guitarist and teaches classical, jazz, and rock guitar. Mike met Alex on a gig in 1985 and they have been playing together ever since.
Sandy is a classically trained vocalist with a great voice that allows her to be comfortable singing all types of music as a soloist, with an orchestra, or in a club setting with other musicians. Sandy called Mike to play with her in 1988 and the rest is history.
Although our first love is smooth jazz we enjoy all types of music and are accustomed to adjusting our style to fit the age group and song preferences of our audience.
